Music Theory and Ensemble Summer Club 2018

02 - 06 July, 2018 at Enact Music Teaching Studio

2 - 4 pm

£60 per student/week

In these classes students learn the fundamentals of music theory according to the western classical music tradition. Music Theory is an essential aspect in becoming a musician helping students understand the music pieces they are learning, providing knowledge for musical improvisation and composing own music.

Ensemble is about making music together as a group in a creative and artistic shared process and is one of the most exciting experiences one can have in life. The ensemble experience educates the entire musician and the whole person by providing: a sense of musical communion where collaboration with others is developed, opportunities to experience a variety of musical roles, learning from peers, developing musical and instrumental skills and learning to critically listen to oneself and others - In essence, participation in this course will provide insights that are essential for successful communication not only in music but also in day-to-day communication.

Students can bring their own instruments and will be working in small ensemble groups. Students who are unable to bring a musical instrument will still be able to experience the ensemble. They will be asked to either: sing or play provided instruments such as recorders, electric keyboards or percussion instruments.

Only 7 places available per week allocated on first come first served basis. Standard rates apply for bookings made until 22nd May. After this date a surcharge will be applied. Enrollment fees are non-refundable unless the Music Production and Song Writing weeks need to be cancelled. For more information please see Terms and Conditions for Summer Clubs 2018.
