Ensemble is about making music together as a group in a creative and artistic shared process and is one of the most exciting experiences one can have in life. The ensemble experience educates the entire musician and the whole person as an individual by providing: a sense of musical communion where collaboration with others is developed, opportunities to experience a variety of musical roles, learning from peers, developing musical and instrumental skills and learning to critically listen to oneself and others - In essence, participation in this course will provide insights that are essential for successful communication not only in music but also in day-to-day communication.
Children can bring their own instruments and will be working in small ensemble groups. Children who are unable to bring a musical instrument will still be able to experience the ensemble. They will be asked to either: sing or play provided instruments such as recorders, electric keyboards or percussion instruments.
This course deeply connects with all the other courses on offer during the Summer Scheme throughout the week.
